Stay For Tomorrow

Formed in 2018, Stay For Tomorrow are an energetic four piece alternative rock band emerging from Dunfermline, Scotland. Consisting of vocalist and rhythm guitarist Joe MacFarlane, lead guitarist Nic Holson, drummer Sean Priestley and bassist Ollie Cobbett. For fans of Twin Atlantic, Biffy Clyro and Foo Fighters, SFT look to create epic, fresh alt rock songs with their own signature sound that will make you wish you discovered them sooner!

They burst onto the Fife scene in 2019 with their debut single “Kings and Queens” followed by their second single “Rumours”. At the start of 2020 SFT signed with Reaction Management and released their third single “Criminal”, collaborating with singer Aveleen Rose. 2020 was used to write and record new material to be released in 2021, the first of which was “I Don’t Need You To Save Me”, “an exhilarating storm of music bursting through your speakers” – Nexus Music Blog. “Non Applicable (Na Na)”, “a high-octane, synthtastic track about the failed system we’re living in” (In The Bucket Playlist) was released on the 1st October. Following on from the success of that track, “The One” was released on the 26th November. The Other Side Reviews states that “the combination of dynamic guitars, pounding drums and MacFarlane’s gruff vocals tips the listener into a sonic whirlpool filled with hazy ambiences”. February 2022 saw the first single of the year dropped by the band, “Prison Living”. “Unquestionably one of the best contemporary alternative rock tunes you’ll hear this year” – Thoughts Words Action. In August 2022 SFT are set to unleash their latest alt rock/pop punk track “Lipstick Lips”. With a throwback to 90’s skater vibes plus ska style brass at the forefront, this track provides an element of nostalgia with a twist out of the ordinary all whilst keeping that signature SFT sound.

Stay For Tomorrow have performed at iconic Scottish venues such as King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, Sneaky Pete’s and PJ Molloys supporting Massive Wagons as well as performing at 2022’s Bonfest. The band are looking to head out to rock the rest of the UK in the near future. Watch this space, Stay For Tomorrow.

Slyder Smith & The Oblivion Kids

In advance of the band’s debut LP, ‘Charm Offensive’, which is out 19th August, the swaggering British rock band, Slyder Smith & the Oblivion Kids, will release a brand new single ‘Pleasure Victim’ on Friday 12th August.

The track will be followed by a music video as the group prepare for an extensive UK Tour commencing 23rd August as special guests to groove rock legends Electric Boys.

‘Pleasure Victim’ is a sleaze-powered runaway train; an homage to the decadence and debauchery of the late 80s/early 90s Soho rock scene. The new song is a hard-hitting classic rock anthem with filthy duelling guitars, steam roller bass, and  relentless pounding beat.

Lyrically it tells the story of the transformation from being shackled to the doldrums of the 9-5 life to when the weekend finally comes, and the seduction of the night lures you in to live the dream of rock stardom.

“Seduce me with all your charms, I’m a victim when I’m in your arms”

You are powerless, you are addicted to the music, addicted to the look, get dressed to impress, choose your poison, and offer yourself up to the altar of the rock gods. This is your song, this is your anthem, whether you like it or not, you are now a Pleasure Victim… at least for tonight!

Slyder Smith first swaggered onto the stage as lead guitarist with glam-tinged power popsters, Last Great Dreamers. After releasing four studio albums and one live album on Ray Records, Slyder has toured extensively throughout the UK & Europe with LGD headline shows and special guest slots to The Quireboys, The Wildhearts, Terrorvision, The Darkness, Enuff ZNuff, and more.

Slyder now takes centre stage leading his new power trio, Slyder Smith & The Oblivion Kids (featuring Tim Emery on bass and drummer Rik Pratt) in an honest outpouring of grit, glamour, and emotion.

Produced by Pete Brown (George Harrison, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Marc Almond, The Smiths, Sam Brown), Slyder Smith & the Oblivion Kids’ debut album, ‘Charm Offensive’ is a chocolate box of sonic sensations offering up a little something for everyone – from heavy riffage with walloping drums akin to AC/DC to the anticipated sleaze rock shades of Hanoi Rocks.

However, this band is not afraid to step away from their rock roots, instead, with nods to the likes of The Doors, Velvet Underground, The Stranglers, and The Kinks from the past and the alternative rock sound of Manic Street Preachers, The Oblivion Kids have reimagined an 80s synth pop classic and mastered singalong pop, gothic, dark Americana, and dare we say it, funk rock?!

Kyoshi Station

Unless you’re some sort of sociopath, we’ve all had a feeling of doubt in our own abilities. Whether it’s your performance at work, your social setting, relationships, or your confidence in something you have created – we all get the feeling that we are the impostors and at any moment our lie will be discovered.

This song tries to make you see that because everyone feels like an impostor, you never really are.

Production notes

Impostor was recorded as part of the home lockdown sessions that fill the rest of the album.

The song is topped by an immense slide guitar solo (check out the album version for the full length solo).

Cindy Alter

Singer Songwriter Cindy Alter from Johannesburg, South Africa and now based in Nashville, USA.

After gaining worldwide recognition at the tender age of 21 when she fronted the all girl rock group Clout who reached number 2 in the UK charts and number one in other countries with Substitute, Cindy Alter now returns with the re-release of her single Love Hurts through the Creative & Dreams label.

Deuce Music

SOTW - Kira Mac

Kira Mac is a band built on straight up, old school Blues Rock riffs with a modern edge. A lot of flares, soul, and double shot of Rock ‘N’ Roll. Twinning powerhouse vocals and a killer Guitar lead, they are a force to be reckoned with.

They are a musical collection made up of misfits from different corners of the country, from Stoke to Hull, and by chance they met in the middle in Manchester in 2018.

Whilst studying Music at University in the city, they had one thing in common, they wanted to play and write great Music, that came from a place of working-class struggles, an honest outlet.

As a band collectively, that has taken influence from great bands and artists that have come before them, raised on old school Rock, Blues, and everything else in between.

Their raw talent and distinguished tone are built from grass roots and the love of electric sounds and acoustic skills. Being an established writer and vocalist, to then forming and developing a band with guitarist Joe Worrall, Kira Mac has formed into the driving force of the original song writing and unique sounds that they produce today. With Alex, Bret and Cal on rhythm and percussion.

Their debut single is due to be released this year ‘One Way Ticket’ is an anthem about escapism and the things that you would do to follow a dream, “if we had a pound for every time someone said, you’ll never make money in Rock…we’d be making money in Rock”

Despite everything that has been thrown at the Music Industry the past few years, there will be a full studio album out this year and the band will be back to shows and festivals across the UK, as soon as possible.

To find out where they’ll be playing, or to follow their updates and releases, follow on all social media platforms.

Boxteles

Boxteles hail from Huddersfield in West Yorkshire. Nestled between the northern powerhouses and always underestimated, there is a point to prove for these boys. Their bigger and more famous neighbours won’t know what has been hiding in the shadows. Since the band’s inception in 2018, Boxteles have grown, release to release. Dealing with subject matters that are close to the band, but that strike a chord with everyone that listens.

The evolution of Boxteles can be clearly seen, through their artwork and their ever-growing musicality. Having worked in the studio with Mike Spink (The 1975, Gaslight Anthem, Jake Bugg) during 2021 and 2022, the Boxteles sound has grown. With heavier riffs, bigger hooks and serious sentiments, the band are diving into the new normal with a lot to say about their disdain for the current landscape. The 4-piece consisting of Tom Bedford (Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitar), Ollie Harrison (Lead Guitar), Alex Richardson (Bass) and Oliver Perry (Drums) have all been heavily involved in the music business for years, giving them a birds-eye view of the ever-evolving industry and a clear vision of where the system no longer works.

The band are about to make their seminal release RELEVANT. It is a flag in the ground; foundations laid ready to build sky-high.
